05-05-15: IBF flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng (15-0, 5 K0s) will make the IBF mandatory defense against the IBF #1 rated John Riel Casimero (21-2, 13 KOs) on June 27 at The Indoor Stadium at the National Sport Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was announced at a press conference in Bangkok on Monday. In Ruenroeng’s most recent ring outing he had his most impressive victory when he defeated Chinese Olympic legend Zou Shiming on March 7 at Venetian Casino Macao, China. Casimero became the mandatory challenger by defeating Armando Santos in an IBF eliminator fight on December 13. Casimero is also a former IBF junior flyweight champion.

Jimmy Chaichotchuang, the leading IBF promoter in Asia, said “The fight on June 27 is the fourth defense of his IBF flyweight championship for Ruenroeng and second time of his mandatory defense since the pride of Thailand scored a good win over McWilliams Arroyo on September 10, 2014 for his first mandatory defense. I would like to thank IBF President Daryl Peoples and John Riel Casimero and his team for making the fight happen. Casimero will be a tough opponent for Ruenroeng. The Ruenroeng vs Casimero will be a historic fight of the year in Thailand. This fight will be televised live on TV mono29 on June 27, 2015 throughout Thailand and broadcast live to Philippines.”
