Pathompothong stops Kennedy By Ray Wheatley-World of Boxing IBF #9 light welterweight Patomsuk Pathompothong (23-1-1) stopped Ruben Kennedy (6-7) in the eleventh round at Mae Hong Son, Thailand on Friday. The Australian came to fight and was effective in connecting with solid left hooks and in round four dropped Pathompothong. In round eight Pathompothong had Kennedy in trouble but the tough Aussie survived to hear the bell. At 1.11 of round eleven the referee crowned Pathompothong after he dropped Kennedy with a power body shot. Leading IBF Asian Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said Boxing fans were happy to see a very exciting fight between Patomsuk and the Australian Ruben Kennedy that was televised on channel seven throughout Thailand. Both boxers showed good boxing skills but Patomsuk was the stronger man. He can win the world title in 2014.
