IBF #11 Rusalee Samor (19-3-2, 8 KOs) outscored Noli Morales (9-3, 3 KOs) over twelve rounds in a nationally televised promotion at the Imperial World Shopping Centre in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday. Samor attacked his opponent from the opening bell connecting with solid punches to the head and body of the 26 year old Filipino champion. In round five Morales stepped up a gear and edged Samor, but the IBF Pan Pacific flyweight champion gained control of the contest in round six and outworked the Filipino through to round ten. Samor was visibly tired in rounds eleven and twelve and was outworked by Morales. The scores were 116-112,116-112,118-110. The promoter, Chaichotchuang said Ruslaee Samor showed today why he is one of the most popular boxers on television in Thailand. Morales is a champion from the Philippines and gave Samor a good fight. My plan is to have Rusalee fight for the world title in 2013.
On the undercard, Beijing 2008 Olympian super flyweight Amnat Ruenroeng (5-0) was impressive as he won a six round technical decision over Wilber Andogan (9-11-3) of the Philippines. Ruenroeng suffered a deep cut to his forehead after a accidental head clash in round six and it went to the cards with all judges scoring 60-55 in favor of the classy Thai.
Tough as nails featherweight Mike Tyson Tawatchai (26-1-1) scored a six round stoppage over Falazona Fiidal (17-33) of Indonesia. Tawatchai dropped a ten round decision to former WBA world champ Daiki Kameda in his most recent fight.
