Samor outscores Mansalayao Thai flyweight Rusalee Samor (15-3-2, 6 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round points decision over game Geboi Mansalayao (7-9-4, 2 KOs) of the Philippines, to defend the IBF Pan Pacific title successfully on Friday at the Thonburri University in Bangkok, Thailand. Samor, boxing from the southpaw stance, attacked Mansalayao from the opening bell and maintained pressure in every round, staggering his shorter opponent with a right hand to the jaw in round three. Round eight was the best round for the Filipino when he went toe-to-toe with the champion. Samor, who is based in South Thailand, stepped up a gear in the championship rounds to win by scores of 118-110, 118-110, 118-110. Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said, Samor is a very exciting boxer and is now one of the most popular boxers on channel seven television. He has good potential to win a world championship and we are now focused on winning the IBF world title. Rusalee lost a points decision to WBC silver champion Denver Cuello and lost inside the distance to new WBC flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro in Samors fifth fight. He has now had 20 fights and would give Sonny Boy a tough fight. When Rusalee gets an IBF world title opportunity I am sure he will be successful. I would like to promote a unified WBC/IBF flyweight title bout in Thailand. In other action, bantamweight Mike Tyson Tawatchai (24-0-1, 17 KOs) was impressive in stopping Filipino John Paul Bautista (10-6-1, 4 KOs) in round three. Bautista suffered a cut eye. I am looking for fights for Mike anywhere in the world, said Chaichotchang. I can be contacted on jimmyboxing@hotmail.com for any promoters interested. Also, classy minimumweight flyweight, Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr looked a future champion in outscoring Nimithra Sithsaithong (1-1, 1 KO) over six action packed rounds. Sakkreerin displayed skillful combination punching that had his opponent out on his feet in round five but he survived to hear the bell. Sakkreerin Jr., one of the best prospects in Thailand, is the son of former IBF world champion Fahlan Sakkreerin. Tough English light welterweight James Leyounk, who is now based in Thailand, went toe-to-toe with Eakkhunphol Mor Krungthepthonburri over six rounds of non stop punching but it was the Thai who was given the decision in a crowd pleasing bout.
