Kiattaweesuk stops Samosir IBF #7 Thanthong Kiattaweesuk (22-0) moved closer to a world title shot with impressive three round stoppage of Indonesian champion Richard Samosir (18-3-3) in a super bantamweight bout scheduled for twelve rounds in Rayong, Thailand on Friday. Southpaw Kiattaweesuk attacked Samosir at the start of round one and in round two dropped the import with a solid left cross to the head. In round three Kiattaweesuk stepped up a gear and connected with solid head and body shots that dropped Samosir and referee Yongsak Na Songkla counted the visitor out. Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said, I am in negotiation at this time to bring the IBF champion to Thailand to give Kiattaweesuk an opportunity to be a IBF world champion. This was a good win today for Kiattaweesuk but I know he will have to be at his very best to win the world title. I would like to promote the IBF world title bout on August 19 in Bangkok. On the undercard featherweight University student Vacharakrit Senahan (21-3-1) outscored Chaiyong Sithsaithong (26-6-3) over eight action rounds.
