Sakkreerin stops Metualy Fahsai Sakkreerin (33-2, 17 KOs) forced a stoppage win over Egyptian champion Mohammed Metualy (16-5, 3 KOs) at the conclusion of round five after the ringside doctor ruled the Egyptian boxer was not fit to continue due to injuries sustained with the IBF Pan Pacific 130 pound title up for grabs at the Bangkok Bus Terminal in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday. Metualy came to fight and swapped heavy blows with his Thai opponent from round one. In round five Sakkreerin stepped up a gear and attacked the body of Metualy and had him on the canvas but the visitor survived to hear the bell but was ruled unfit to continue. In other action flyweight Rusalee Samoh (12-3-2) stopped Charlie Cabilla (9-7-3) of the Philippines in a crowd pleasing contest. Cabilla was dropped by a solid right to the head and the referee crowned Samoh. Big punching 140 pounder Patomsuk Pathompothong (13-1-1) was forced to go the six round distance against Singdej S.Ratidej. Patompothong dropped his opponent in round one but he got up to go the distance losing on points. Featherweight Eakpikat Bangkokthonburi (1-0) scored a KO in round one over Kriangkrai Sithprakarn. Classy 105 pounder Fahlan Sakkkreerin Junior (6-1) won a four round decision over Nampol T.thitima. Fahlan, Jr., is son of Fahlan Sakkreerin, Sr., who held the world IBF mini flyweight title.
