Laguna was in trouble again in round four after the Thai connected with a right hand, left hook combination to the head. In round five an accidental head clash left Laguna with a cut over his left eye. In round six Laguna was in trouble on the ropes and could not defend himself when referee Sanong Au Im stopped the contest at 45 seconds of the round. In other bouts 122 pounder Mike Tyson Tawatchai (19-0-1, 13 KOs) clearly outscored Elmer Francisco (11-13-1, 3 KOs) over six rounds. The aggressive Tawatchai outworked Francisco connecting with solid head and body punches. The Filipino boxed well on the back move but was behind on the punch count.
