Sakkreerin stops Comaro By Ray Wheatley - World of Boxing
2010-10-15 : Former world rated featherweight Fahsai Sakkreerin (29-0) chopped down Indonesian junior lightweight champion Eddy Comaro (23-9-4) in eight rounds in a nationally televised IBF Pan Pacific title bout at the Chaopraya Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday. Comaro connected often with right hands on Sakkreerin early in the fight but the Thai was never in trouble at any stage of the contest. Sakkreerin delivered accurate left jabs, rips and hooks consistently that began to take its toll on the tough Indonesian by round six. In round seven Comaro was looking distressed by the consistent bombardment of leather and at the conclusion of round eight the corner of Comaro wisely retired their boxer.
“Sakkreerin was very good today in stopping the Indonesian champion Comaro,” said promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang. “He showed good skills and power early in the fight but Sakkreerin was at his best today.” Chaichotchuang continued, “I am trying to get to Aussie featherweight Davey Browne to fight Sakkreerin in January 2011. Browne gave Billy Dib a tough fight in 2009.” On the undercard, 122 pounder Mike “Tyson” Tawatchai (18-0-1) boxed aggressively against Carlos Lopez (20-8) of Indonesia in round one and in round two a perfectly delivered right hand to the jaw dropped Lopez for the full ten count. Lopez went six rounds against world rated Billy Dib in 2010. In a mini flyweight Fahlan Sakkreerin, Jr., (2-0, 2 KOs) scored a second round knockout over Prabpram Sithprakarn (0-1). In round one Sithprakarn connected with a power right hand to Sakkreerin’s jaw but in round two the rangy Thai found the range for his accurate combo’s and dropped his opponent for the ten count. Sakkreerin is the son of former world IBF mini flyweight champion Fahlan Sakkreerin, Sr. In an upset, 140 pounder Chandej Chaidej scored a KO in round one over Patomsuk Pathompothong (7-1). Chaidej attacked his opponent at the first bell and connected with a barrage that dropped Pathompothong for the full ten count. Promoter: Jimmy Chaichotchuang.
