Former world rated featherweight Fahsai Sakkreerin (27-2, 12 KOs) was impressive in scoring a six round technical decision over Filipino Ericson Origenes (7-2-2, 5 KOs) at the Holland Beer Entertainment Center in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday. Sakkreerin connected with solid left hooks and right hands consistently on the taller Origenes in rounds one, two and three to control the action. The Filipino scored with solid straight lefts and power right hands in rounds four to edge the round. In round six Sakkreerin suffered a cut over the right eye due to accidental head clash and the doctor ruled it too severe to continue at 2:44. It went to the score cards and Sakkreerin was awarded a decision: 59-55, 59-55, 59-55.
Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said, This was a very good international contest and I am pleased that it was at outstanding boxing venue: The Holland Beer Entertainment Center in Bangkok. This is a move in the right direction to give the boxing fans in attendance a first class venue. Boxing fans in Thailand do not pay to attend boxing promotions but hopefully with venues such as the Holland Beer Entertainment Center, fans can help the boxing promoters by paying for their fight tickets. (Promoters in Thailand rely on sponsorship 100% to pay all costs to arrange promotions.)
On the undercard flyweight Rusalee Samor (8-3-1, 2 KOs) boxed a crowd pleasing draw over six action rounds against Rodel Tejares (8-10-3, 1 KO) of the Philippines. Both boxers came to fight and it was non stop action in all rounds contested. Tejares had extended WBC flyweight champion Pongsaelk Wonjongkam in December 2009 over six rounds.
Super bantamweight Mike Mike Tyson Tawatchai (15-0-1, 11 KOs) outscored Elmar Francisco (9-8-1, 2 KOs) over six rounds of solid action. Fransciso counter punched skillfully but was outworked by the aggressive Thai opponent.
Lightweight Patomsul Patompothong (5-0, 4 KOs) stopped Chalermdetch Sakpothong (0-1) in three rounds. Patompothong is an inmate of Bangkok prison and promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang has arranged for his release for a few hours on fight day so he can continue with his professional boxing career.
Thonburi university student, welterweight Ekapop Mor Krongthep Thonburi (3-0, 2 KOs) stopped Insueedum Sithsaithson in two rounds.
The promoter is Jimmy Chaichotchuang. The event was televised on channel seven television network throughout Thailand.
