18-02-10: IBF Pan Pacific bantamweight champion Tantong Kiattaweesuk (17-0,11 KOs) scored impressive ten round stoppage of Indonesian Rivo Rengkung (29-9-5, 10 KOs) at the Thaweetapisek School, Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday. IBF #12 Kiattaweesuk controlled the early rounds as he connnected with accurate combinations to the head and body of his opponent who boxed out of crouch position. Rengkung hurt Kiattaweesuk in round five with a power right hand to the jaw in round five but the skillful Thai gained control in round six dropping his opponent with a body shot. In round ten, Rengkung was on unsteady legs and the referee Somsak Sirianant crowned Kiattaweesuk.
Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said, Rengkung came to fight today and is very experienced having over 40 fights, but Kiattaweesuk showed his class by scoring a good win. I want Kiattaweesuk to challenge the IBF champion Yonnhy Perez for the title and want to fight in IBF eliminator to get our opportunity.
Hard punching 122-pounder Patomchoke Patompothong (18-0,16 KOs) knocked out Indonesian Junistan Simbolon (3-8-1) in three rounds. The importation was on the canvas twice in round three after the powerful Thai hurt him consistently with power punches to the head and body.
Patomchoke has challenged world rated Leon Moore of Guyana to fight on my April promotion, said Chaichotchuang. We should have answer next week from Moores manager Daniel Potter. It is a big step up in class as Moore has world class skills but I think Patomchoke is ready.
Flyweight Ruslee Salmon (10-2) outscored Yodradab Permthongmak over six action rounds. Televised on Channel Seven throughout Thailand.
