26-11-08: Former Bangkok Prison inmate Pathomchoke Pathompothong (15-0, 14 KOs) was impressive in stopping Indonesian jnr featherweight champion La Amia Laila (14-5-4) at the conclusion of round seven to defend the IBF Pan Pacific title successfully at the Bangkothornburi University, Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday. Southpaw Pathompotong delivered powerful head and body shots to dominate the durable importation in rounds one, two and three. The Indonesian stepped up a gear in round four and five to edge the rounds scoring with accurate punches. The Thai regained control in rounds six and seven as he battered his opponent with a constant barrage of head and body shots. At the conclusion of round seven the corner of Laila retired their boxer after his left eye was closed shut. Pathompothong started his professional career while serving a six-year sentence. He was relesead in July. Pathompotong is currently studying for the Bachelor of Arts degree at the university. Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang is also studying Sports Management and will receive a diploma in 2009.
IBF #13 featherweight Fahsai Sakkreerin (28-1) dominated Lekpetch Pothonggym stopping him in round five. Flyweight Sularee Samor (4-0) easily outpointed Namchai Taksinisan over four rounds. Hot prospect jr lightweight Watcharakrt Senharm (11-0) scored fourth knockout over Wansak Sithsaithong. Jr flyweight Pathomchai Pathompothong (7-1) knocked out Sakol Sakpothong in three rounds.
